Master Jarrod Solomon
Master Jarrod Solomon is the head instructor and owner of Desert Martial Arts Academy, and has been training consistently in various forms of martial arts since 1981. When not teaching martial arts, he works at a local information technology firm as a certified network engineer. He currently holds the rank of 5th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and 4th degree black belt in American Aikido. Additionally, he holds various lower ranks in other styles. He is a former police reservist and worked in the bodyguarding and high risk security industry for five years, and has extensive experience dealing with physical altercations. Because of this, his teaching style focuses heavily on realistic, effective self defense and conflict resolution techniques. Despite his extensive martial arts credentials, one of Mr. Solomon's favorite quotes is "Just because you're a good martial artist, it doesn't mean you're a good teacher." Therefore Mr. Solomon places very high emphasis on the teaching ability of all of his instructors. Mr. Solomon has been teaching martial arts professionally since 1994, and runs his martial arts school because he hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of the people that he teaches.

Grandmaster Jamal Aleem
Grandmaster J.A.A. Aleem is the head instructor and founder of Aleem's School of Tae Kwon Do, and a long time resident of The Greater Palm Springs area. He holds the rank of 9th Dan, and is an inductee of The World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, The World Sokeship Council (1996), and The Masters Hall of Fame (2002). With 36 years of teaching experience, Grandmaster Aleem is a World Taekwondo Federation, American Teachers Association of the Martial Arts, and a United Martial Arts Federation Certified Master Instructor. He has taught thousands and promoted nearly 500 black belts. He trained America's 1st World Taekwondo Champion, WTF Hall of Famer and Master Instructor (Dr. Marcia Hall), America's 1st Olympic Taekwondo Gold Medalist (Dana Hee), 2 World Champion Kickboxers, an International 9 time World Kickboxing Champion, a second World Taekwondo Champion (Lydia Zele), and dozens of Point, and Continuous Fighting Champions, a World Ranked Boxer, and regional, state and divisional karate champions of every age. Grandmaster Aleem’s teaching method is registered and licensed and has produced some of the world's finest martial artists, as well as outstanding students and citizens. He is also a certified rape and assault prevention expert. Aleem's Taekwondo has proudly served the greater Palm Springs community since 1994, with one of the largest martial arts student bodies in the history of the Coachella Valley.
